Bit of a lull in proceedings mid-session, and I've decided to stop for the day as the only two bets left that I fancy are really silly ones. So best stop before wasting any money. I will be watching and hoping against hope that Dani can roll back the years and send the hateful Azarenka and Redfoo packing.

Wicky did me a good turn, but the rest was all very uncertain stuff. There was a mid-game injury in the Maka vs Mug match and I had to get rid of all the Mug green and cover the Maka red, as there was no way of knowing who was injured - the market didn't move, so either there were no courtsiders or it wasn't that serious an injury. Sod's Law, Mug went on to win.

Betfair crashed midafternoon for an hour, just as the EPL  was kicking off. Not the first time this has happened, but why they can't sort it out lord alone knows. But it actually did me a favour, as I'd had a small bet on QPR which I would've gone all red when they went 0-1 down. As it was, they went 2-1 up while Betfair was still down!

Had a couple of wins on Bundesliga 2, but after 2 crap bets on the tennis I could feel my head was messed up, so I stopped for the night. Hopefully get going again tonight.

7 March RIP Christina Edkins

There was an horrific murder of a 16 yr old girl yesterday in Birmingham as she was going to school on the bus. Apparently just a random act. The poor girl had a twitter account and reading through the tweets did my head in - she wasn't just another name in the headlines, it somehow made it personal. After that sport, tennis, betting on tennis all seemed a bit inconsequential.

Back in the fray again, after a layoff last week.

It's strange these days not to have any live tv or streaming of the tennis, yet this is the case with the first week of Indian Wells, and of Miami in 2 weeks time. One presumes it's the legacy of the contract between the tennis bodies and the USA tv networks probably dating back a few years before the increase in the use of internet streaming for coverage, and it must be highly embarrassing to the tennis organisers for two of the biggest tournaments of the year to have no coverage at all for the first few days.

So it was scoreboards only, and I have to say the appeal of betting and following tennis solely by scoreboard has waned. Odd to think this was the main way it worked not that long ago!

Regardless, some nice winners were landed. Plus a bet on the NBA, which was something to watch while following the scoreboards.
